For several years I've noticed a surge of foul cursing during the first quarter of the calender year (as mildly exhibited in yesterday's blog entry). Today, I made notice of the pattern and realized the connections. It was a true "duh! moment."
Today I completed what I hatefully call phase two of 1st quarter tax prep. With both me and The Boy being self-employed, all the hoops and foolish tracking and reporting that the government requires can really get to ya, especially in this season, when quarterly and annual efforts overlap. In any event progress was made, and I can now focus on pulling together all the foolishness that our CPA needs to work her magic so we may file the annual income tax. Even a little piece of that was tackled today. So all-in-all I feel pretty good about these hateful things. And I even now know why the cursing flares. I figure I'll just be creative with it and enjoy it - the foul language that is!
And I'll do my best to keep it out of this blog.
On a happier note, I finished the dish rags that I made with cotton yarn that I found in perfectly fitting colors for my "new" kitchen.

And last year I was contacted by an Online Community Specialist in Switzerland about using one of the images I shared on connect@earth.org for the World Conservation Congress in Barcelona. It was a photo of balls of plarn that I had made. Needless to say I consented with delight. I was promised a copy of the poster ... and I received two copies of it yesterday:
How freakin' cool is that?
And today I received a copy of Artful Blogging and I'm gonna grab a cold home brew and page through this stunning magazine now. Ciao!

Oh patricia, I laughed reading your comment, because I've never learned proper crochet definitions. Needless too say I can't read a pattern, but I can look at certain stitches and then figure it out.
In any event I do believe the stitch is a "dc" and I used a single strand ... and my crochet hook in numberless, but the diameter is about 3/8". I hope that helps in some small way!

LOL tarabu!!! "...up hill ten miles both ways in the snow..." Did I really paint such a picture? Just for the record ... it was a scant 1/2 mile, one-way ... though it was uphill in snow!
Love the dish cloths! I've been wanting to try some. And this is my first year to file taxes as self employed....it will be fun won't it? I'm imagining it as some nightmarish circus. Hmmm, I suppose setting my own hours and going 'to work' in my PJ's may help offset the tax stress.
I love these dish cloths too and I've been making and using them for many, many years now - in one form or another. My mom originally taught me the classic knitted pattern, but I like the crochet better, 'cause I don't have to count!
They last and last! Even if you buy them from someone who makes them they are worth every penny and then some!
The tax season...I can relate. Since last year I've been on a mission to get the tax situation updated. I still am missing lots and lots of bookkeeping.
The selling online and Paypal has scared me for years b/c I didn't know how to even look at a spreadsheet. Last year someone taught me to import PP history to Google Docs (I am still too scared of Excel), so I am about to start all over for 2008 records. Yup, haven't began yet! Ouch!
Now I'll go see what cursing you done did. I loves some cursing...it's my fave technique for venting! :D
ugh taxes - my mother is very successfully self-employed and she and a girlfriend run away to the beach for four days to process them with excesses of mutual support.
