A Morning for the First Snow

I wandered my little acre in the quiet of this snow covered morning ... just taking it in.
Taking it all in.
All that has passed and will be again.
All that weighs me down and lifts me up.
All that sustains and nourishes me.

I took in the last of the baby leeks and some sage that will find its way into a beautiful farm-raised chicken that will be roasted later today. And there's still a little more in the gardens to sustain me for a while ... even as the snow falls. Peace.

Beautiful snow photos! It snowed here in Alabama yesterday morning and was melted by the afternoon, so I had to get out there early to capture it in my photos. It very well may be the only snow I get to see this year. Thanks for sharing your snow photos too.

I'm glad I stumbled upon your blog! For the past three years I've been feeling a call to get more in tune with the nature around me (I spent many years in a clinical major depression, during which I really shut off from the world).

I also enjoy your pictures and meditations. Thanks for sharing the beauty around you with us so we can be reminded to notice it ourselves.

We had our first snow this weekend. I love it! The way it clings to the trees is so magical to me.
Love your photos.
Jen (thanks for coming by my blog, I may have to borrow your Winter Solstice party idea)

That bird house is my favorite picture today. It looks inviting even under that snow cap.
