Great Balls of Fabric

Goodness, gracious … today, among other things, I finished ripping the cotton strips from the vintage 70's fabric I had targeted for upcoming projects and sat down at the trusty sewing machine to bind the strips together to make these balls of cotton "yarn."

That's what I made today.

Peace.

I need to do that myself, but I always get impatient....I want to make some rugs someday.

Cool! My mom used to cut up all old clothing and sweaters into strips and then weave them into large rugs that lasted forever! The loom took up half the room, a great big one...

looks like a good meditative project.

They are pretty. I used to help my grandmother make great balls like that from used materials, and then she turned them into braided rugs.

How very neat! I would have never thought to make fabric yarn like that :)

I can't wait to see what you make with it!
