Plans, Discoveries and . . .

Every calendula flower was gathered today. There's plenty more buds and I may get a few more, but these flowers are all now either dried or infusing in oil or alcohol. Between these peppers gathered today, and the ones harvested last night, it looks like I'll be pickling tomorrow. There's just a couple more Asian long beans that were out of my reach, and I have these saved for Halley, the dog. She loves beans!

I discovered this beauty hiding, face down, behind the beans and tomatoes.

I paused to wonder why beauty so often hides her face like that . . .

Garden Stew

With celery, celeriac, kale, green onion, carrots, turnip and turnip greens I made a pot of amazing garden stew. It was the perfect thing to come home to after my Platt Hill weed walk.

Cookies, Art & Promotion

An October chill settled in my little hut this day. Rather than put the heat on I decided to bake. I threw together cookie fixin's with organic cocoa, chocolate chips, flax seed, and rough chopped walnuts. Eighty cookies later, the hut was warm and cozy.

I finished three new ACEOs.

That's what I made today.

Garden Goodies

I picked cilantro.
I made a cilantro pesto for the freezer.
I made simmered greens. I made bean and garlic salad. I made bok choy with broccoli and garlic and ginger.
I made salad.

I made more, but I have friends of spirit showing up here soon, so I have to make space ready for them. Toodles!

Nourishment

Today I started a new project. One I won't share until it's "completed," which could take a while. I suspect that, while I have a concept, and a process too, this will be an expressive evolution. This sort of suspense is such nourishment for me!

I "finished" the latest autumn art journal pages and this exercise has inspired some other creative ideas and expressions. More nourishment!

I made a really good dinner too!
