A Page for Integrity

Today I continued on one of those pages I prepped yesterday and created an expression of integrity

… using a favored expression of my own when discussing the topic.

To me, it's that simple. That's what I made today.

Peace.

Three Art Journal Pages Prepped

After tending to practical matters early in the day, I was inspired to get out the paints and inks and other assorted art materials and prepared three art journal pages.

I like to work in multiple journals at one time so that I don't waste any paint. I mix my own colors and prefer to use all that I mix. Mama Earth appreciates that. I wonder where I'll take these pages from here? Or where they will take me?

That's what I made today.

Peace.

More Mini Journals

There's a part of me that wants to ask for your blessing and beg for your forgiveness for this long overdue blog post.

… must be tied to an aspect of my upbringing …

Yet there's another part of me that wonders why?

February has proven to be a very busy and productive month and I expect that trend to continue. Accelerate, even. I've reorganized my time so that I'm online less and while that has distinct benefits, I realize I can't leave my blog fallow for quite so long.

I reflect back to a time when I was posting every day … and I wonder how I did that? But the wondering evolves into the realization that posting a daily update takes mere minutes and it's up to me how I choose to invest those minutes. I'll be more diligent, I promise, but daily posts are likely a thing of the past (especially with spring around the corner and seeds to start, gardens to tend, food to grow, harvests to preserve!).

All that aside, I've created some new mini journals these past couple of weeks, as you can see. I have more completed, not pictured here, and more still in process. Creating these little pieces functional art is truly an act of health and wellness for me, a practice of expressive Medicine. And because I'm loathe to waste paint (and pollute the mama) I create ACEOs and art journal pages as I make these journals. It's a joy, really!

So today I got a few listed in my ArtFire and my Zibbet shops and will be listing more over the coming days. I hope you'll stop by to take a closer look as well as watch for the new listings as they get up.

So … that's what I made today. How 'bout you?

Peace.

ACEOs & Onions

Today I finished up some ACEOs that I've been working on for a while and got most of them listed in my ArtFire studio and Zibbet shop. I still have a few more to get to, but one thing at a time.

I got a flat of onion seeds started, which feels so good. I'm anxious to start more seeds, but it's still early, so patience will be my companion while I dream of spring and nurse my "Bianca di Maggio" and "Yellow Parma" babies.

As for now, I have dinner to think about and then some hookin' to enjoy!

Peace.

Completions, Connections

Today was another day semi-dedicated to cleansing and clearing physical space. This recent project of purging closets and other dark recesses of my physical world is proving to be a doubled-edge sword (but what isn't?). I am able to realize an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and feel as though I'm backsliding all at once.

But I haven't done this deep a clearing in quite some time, so it's a process and I must be patient with the process and with my relationship to it. This is the sort of exercise that offers lessons and reminders … clarity and grounding. It is this task that ripened in my mind and heart this past new moon … with my commitment to no longer stow away un-finished projects. I give myself permission to continue to multi-task, for I feel it's necessary to many - if not most - of my creative endeavors … unless I want to be stagnant for days (or even hours) at a time, which is not an option.

Yet, like pages in my art journals, the creative tasks that I nurture may have their place where I revisit them often and see them to completion. I am committed to weaving this discipline into the full spectrum of my holistic life.

With that, I have a journal page to continue …

Peace.

Spirit Cord Page Savers

Today I finished up some new Spirit Cord page savers. I got most of them up at my ArtFire and my Zibbet shops, but still have a few more to get to listed. I also have more pendants ready, so I'll get to  spinning them into the cords in the coming days.

This evening The Boy and I will be making sushi together. We haven't done that in a while, so it will be nice. I think a fire and a little saki is also in order.

Peace.

A Feel Good Day

Today was one of those rare days where I managed to get more done than I had projected. I put more layers on those mini journals I'm working on, got some state tax work done and in the mail, managed mail, visited with my neighbor, got to the next-to-final-step of determining my seed order for this year. I rewarded myself with a visual meditation in one of my art journals.

It feels good. This day.

That's what I made today.

Peace.

First Coats

I finally have some new mini journals in the works. I made time to prime and get first coats of colors on several. Next up … the layering!

That's what I made today.

Peace.
