An Eyebrightening Mess

Or: When Good Jars Go Bad.

I was making The Boy some eyebright infusion (tea, if you prefer) and as the canning jar filled to the top with boiling water ::POP!:: herb and water all of the counter, walls, floor ... and in the drawers and cupboards too. What a mess. The upside is that my little kitchen got a good cleaning, drawers and cupboards included.

That's what I made today. Peace.

Ooooops! Reminds me of when I took the beaters out of a brownie mix with the thing still running...

Uh oh! What a mess! but then like you said, your kitchen got a real cleaning after that! I remember one time I opened up a bottle of pop for my son and his friends, and it literally exploded and went all over me, the ceiling, the floor and everywhere! lol!

Sometimes the sprites of chaos simply make the rounds. I chuckle in knowing that I am in such good company - and not alone!

(and that it could have been worse!)

I love how everyone is telling of their own mishaps. One time I had a bowl of mussels explode..bet noone can top that!

Oh noooo! That happened to me while making iced tea. It was too hot when I poured i into the glass pitcher and the bottom of it just detached. It was more of a 'slow motion' incident, but still VERY messy! :-)

a mess is much better than a mess and burned! :)

Tomato sauce everywhere - not the way to signal a good kitchen cleaning but some good does come from these little (or not so little) mishaps

Thanks all, for your kind words and for sharing you *Mess* stories - here and on FB! Some of them inspired great, great gratitude that it was only tea. Only tea, Only tea. :D

Peace.
