... they had a grand time simmering together. Then the red beans elbowed their way in ...
... and zephyr squash and green onion joined the party just in time ...
... to make a very nice meal with homemade garlic toast.
And I simmered a quart of very yummy kale. That's what I made today.

Isn't it funny how red beans always elbow their way into things!?! It's a good thing they taste so darn good... otherwise their behavior would be very annoying!

LOL Vin - Actually, I ferment all my legumes prior to cooking which seems to ... umm ... release most of the gases before they ever even get near the digestive system!

How do you ferment your beans in advance? Maybe a theme for a post?
I rarely eat beans for this reason, they don't seem digestible to me.
mmmmmmm...once it gets cool down here in the southeast, I'll be making soups...
YUM! I love soups. During the summer I cant make any soups (or not willingly) since it heats my tiny house to blazing, so with fall on the way your simmering pot makes me want to bring out my soup cauldron!

How do you eat the kale that you simmered? By itself or with something else... and how do you ferment beans?
