I was just walking through my woods, looking at the arnica and thinking of you. Returned to find your comment. Fun. Are the wee ones taking to their new home?
Could you direct me to a recipe for making an arnica salve or ointment?
Oh, Tammie . . . that rainbow captured ME! :) By "last flower" do you mean the one with the Bumbler? Or even the one before it? They are both Salvia officinaliis, or common garden sage.
As for the arnica, the little dears are struggling, but I have a plan . . .
Last but not least, I have added infused oil and salve to post here - in a how-to fashion - the next time I make one (which could be today). Oh - and I haven't forgotten the Chamomile Ale either! ;)

the flower I was asking about is the soft pink one that looks like a bell in pt#1 of 2.
When collecting the arnica, I learned their roots are all interconnected & shallow and I wondered how they would do, as not much root would come along with each one.
Thanks for considering posting infusions and salves. I read to collect the arnica to make a oil of it, but to do so 36 hours after rain(so that it doesn't ferment), well it has been raining daily and yesterday it snowed! Ha!
Ahhhh . . . Tammie - that's a columbine flower. It really is lovely, isn't it?!
Update: the arnica is struggling. :( But I'm keeping a good thought.
And - I can't believe you had snow when we were practically melting!
